If it wasn't for Bali Navigator, I probably would have given up on driving in Bali after the first day, or else I would have just stuck to a few simple routes in the area of our hotel. Roads in Bali are maze-like, and it can be easy to get lost.  Even with a "co-pilot" in the passenger seat with a map, it's really not a good idea to take your attention off the road for even a second to figure out your route.  There are many road bikes, pedestrians, and surprises (chickens for example) that pop out in front of your path.

To anyone deciding to drive in Bali, I would say, DEFINITELY rent a GPS from Bali Navigator.  The advantages are tremendous.  Having this GPS with us turned a frustrating and hazardous situation into an enjoyable adventure. Knowing that this team started from scratch, entering coordinates from motorbikes to graph out the roads, and considering that even somewhat obscure destinations are available in the menus to navigate to at the touch of a button is truly astounding.

This was our 3rd time to Bali, but this time, we found ourselves heading off into the hills, and off the "beaten path" more than we were ever able to do before. Instead of returning unsure of whether we'd "worn out" Bali as a destination, we came back wanting to go back and explore even more.  In short, Bali GPS was a key that opened the door to a far deeper experience than we could have had otherwise. Plus, the price is so reasonable, and they delivered straight to our hotel right at the time we'd arranged.  The security deposit came back right in the envelope I had handed it to them in.

We will definitely be back as returning customers.

We found Lombok was like Bali 20 years ago...much quieter, not the shops, hawkers, traffic or hassle! Puri Mas is at Mangsit Beach, which is just out of Senggigi, and so quiet and isolated. Only a few hawkers that wander along the front of the resorts. We found them friendly, not as pushy or aggressive as Kuta! We hired a bike and rode up the coast which was beautiful.

We hired the car from Eddie in Poppies 2 & paid 150.000rp per day for a Toyota Avanza - hired it for 3 weeks. We also purchased a Bali Navigator which was excellent...just punched in where we wanted to go, and the nice lady told us how to get there. The driving is a bit 'hairy' around the busy areas of Kuta/Legian etc. We just took is easy and watched everyone in every direction...and of course gave way to the biggest ! It was a lot of fun, and we did a lot of exploring.

Hi Don

We like it so much now we brought it back with us and have it in our hire car this week. This is a very user friendly unit and the software for Bali is great, it makes moving around this beautiful island fun and no hassle, seems to have every little street and lane included, I would highly recommend this to anyone.
