About Us:

If you are new to navigation systems maybe start here by checking out this GPS Beginners Guide to get a basic understanding about how Global Positioning Systems (GPS) and Satellite Navigation (Sat Nav) works.

In a nut shell, the “Bali Navigator” is a digital GPS map database developed by Dr Brian Long who along with his Bali mapping team, has painstakingly mapped the major roads, highways, by-ways, streets, lanes and thoroughfares on the Indonesian island of Bali.  Brian, a CSIRO trained GIS mapping expert (who lives in Bali) and his business partner Mr Don Meredith who resides in Australia have committed to the long term development and ongoing maintenance of the Bali Navigator map, which includes the mapping of the nearby island of Lombok to complete the Bali Navigator package. The island of Lombok has long been considered an extension of Bali by tourists and tour/travel operators alike, and therefore a Bali/Lombok GPS map package is seen as a necessary synergy.

Bali is a spectacular island but most visitors never get off the beaten track or away from the densely populated tourist haunts of Kuta, Legian, Sanur and Ubud, and if they do it is very easy to get lost. Getting off the main roads is an exhilarating experience, an adventure and a chance to see the real Bali. Locals wave as you pass by and are excited because they probably haven't seen a tourist pass through their village for quite some time. Quiet traditional Bali villages with ancient temples, the island’s northern townships of Lovina and Singaraja (which was once Bali’s capital) and the divers resort mecca of Amed are simply breathtaking. Likewise are the stunning valley views of hanging rice fields set against a backdrop of lush tropical rain forest thru the central highlands, all are a must see and all easily accessible with your  Bali Navigator by your side.

Due to its remoteness much of Bali has been recorded by our mapping teams on motorcycles equipped with Global Positioning Systems and our tracking and recording equipment. Our teams have now mapped over 15,000 klms of Bali roads as well as marking the positions of over 13,000 POI’s (Points Of Interest) including hotels, villas, restaurants, bars & clubs, petrol stations, scenic routes, department stores, shops etc...  very impressive numbers considering the island is only 130klm x 110 klm in size.

Now with the help of Bali Navigator getting around Bali has never been easier.  “It’s like having a tour guide in your pocket”

Our Commitment to Quality:

Now that the initial Bali mapping is complete a Quality Assurance program has already begun. Carried out by our Bali Navigator mapping team, funding has been put in place to allow for constant updating of new roads, additional and changing POI and improving the accuracy of our maps. This will ensure that regular updates will keep your GPS or SmartPhone loaded with the very latest maps of Bali and Lombok.  Please contact our Mapping & Technical Support Division for information on our mapping program and our commitment to quality. We also provide prompt technical advice for installing and supporting Bali Navigator Maps and we encourage feedback from our clients and comments on the accuracy of our maps and POI information through our online Report-A-Map © feature to help us improve our products.
